Steven R. Springsteel

Steven R. Springsteel

Steven R. Springsteel was appointed president and chief executive officer of Chordiant Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: CHRD) effective February 1, 2006. Mr. Springsteel was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors in November, 2006. Mr. Springsteel brings more than 20 years of experience in operational and financial management to his position. His accomplishments include the management of two successful IPO's and multiple mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Springsteel also has extensive experience in raising equity and debt funding in the public and private marketplaces, as well as formulating and implementing complex business strategies. He has a demonstrated record of recruiting and building strong organizations.

His most recent experience was at Verity (Nasdaq: VRTY), where he served as president and chief financial officer. At Verity, he grew a profitable business through five acquisitions and ultimately guided the sale of the company.

Mr. Springsteel's background includes serving from 1996 to 2000 as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Chordiant Software through its initial public offering in February 2000. He has been a member of Chordiant's Board of Directors since 2004 and has chaired both its Audit and Compensation Committees during his tenure as an independent board member.

Mr. Springsteel has been a member of the board of directors of three public companies and has headed both audit and compensation committees of those public company boards. Mr Springsteel currently sits on the board of privately held Zend Technologies and is on the Board of Trustees of the California State Parks Foundation.

In 2008, he was awarded the prestigious Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Software in Northern California.

Mr. Springsteel holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Cleveland State University.

Peter Norman
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Peter Norman

Peter Norman was named chief financial officer of Chordiant Software in March of 2006. Pete joined Chordiant in August 2004 as director of finance and was named vice president and corporate controller in March 2005. Prior to Chordiant, he spent 12 years as a senior manager in the audit practice of KPMG Peat Marwick LLP. He also served in senior financial and operational positions with several private companies. Mr. Norman holds a Bachelor of Science Degree, cum laude, from Humboldt State University with a major in accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and a member of the California State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

P.K. Karnik
Senior Vice President and General Manager, Worldwide Client Services
P.K. Karnik

Prashant K. (P.K.) Karnik joined Chordiant in August of 2006. He is currently the Senior Vice President and General Manager, Worldwide Client Services. P.K. is responsible for worldwide customer delivery, support, sustaining engineering, SI partner collaboration and education. P.K. is an industry veteran with more than 27 years of experience leading delivery teams and developing partner relationships in the technology and enterprise software markets. Prior to Chordiant, P.K. was senior vice president, services, for a solutions provider in the domestic financial services industry, where he managed a worldwide group of more than 150 professionals.

Previously he served in executive management positions with Datanautics (a.k.a. Accrue Software), Aspect Communications, and Hewlett-Packard’s Global Services organization. At Aspect P.K. led a global team of more than 350 consultants spanning 26 countries. Mr. Karnik holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from NIT India, an MS in Industrial Engineering from Rutgers University, and an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University.

Marchai Bruchey
Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer
Marchai Bruchey

Marchai Bruchey joined Chordiant in April 2009 as Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. Ms. Bruchey has responsibility for corporate marketing, field marketing, product marketing and global alliances. She has over 29 years of sales, marketing and alliances experience in the high tech industry and 10 years of experience in the customer service market. Prior to Chordiant, Ms. Bruchey was the Chief Marketing Officer at KANA Software where she had similar responsibilities for marketing and global alliances. Ms. Bruchey is a recognized leader in Customer Relationship Management and has been quoted in lead CRM publications in North America and EMEA and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences.

Prior to KANA, Ms. Bruchey spent 18 years at Digital Equipment Corporation where she served in a variety of executive sales, marketing and alliances positions. She studied Business and Marketing at Queens University at Charlotte.

Raymond Gerber
Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer
Raymond Gerber

Raymond Gerber joined Chordiant in April 2008 and as the Chief Technology Officer is responsible for the Office of the CTO, Worldwide pre-sales, and the Industry Consulting team. He has 27 years of technology related experience both in the capacity of building software solutions for Software Vendors and as a user of vendor solution in consumer organization. Prior to Chordiant, Mr. Gerber was the President and Owner of FirstSecond Technologies with the primary focus of technology focused customer experience improvement.

Mr. Gerber also served in senior positions in various large consumer organizations where he was responsible for the architecting and building of large customer facing solutions. He specialized in Business Process Management practices with a focus on improving end-user operational effectiveness and efficiency through the use of Business Process - management, -integration and, -optimization. He holds 3 Patents relating to optimization of Call center software. Mr. Gerber studied in Accounting at the University of South Africa and Rand Afrikaans University.

Jack Landers
Vice President, Human Resources
Jack Landers

As vice president of human resources at Chordiant, Mr. Landers is responsible for all human resources activities, including benefits, compensation, employee communications, coaching, recruitment, development and retention.

Before joining Chordiant, Mr. Landers was vice president of human resources at both Verity, Inc. and Legato Systems, Inc. At Legato he was a member of the executive team that restored the company to profitability and revenue growth while managing all programs, policies and processes affecting the selection, development, retention and productivity of 1,500 employees worldwide. Prior to Legato, Mr. Landers was vice president of human resources for Pacific Gateway Exchange where he built a complete human resources function from inception, to meet the needs of a fast-growing telecommunications and Internet company. Mr. Landers began in human resources at Digital Equipment Corporation, now part of HP. From there he went to Bay Networks, now part of Nortel, as the HR manager for U.S. sales, marketing, and customer development functions. Mr. Landers is a resident of Redwood City, California. He holds a bachelor of arts and a master of arts from Boston College.

David Zuckerman
Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary
David Zuckerman

Mr. Zuckerman joined Chordiant in August 2008 and is responsible for Chordiant’s legal matters. He also serves as Chordiant’s Compliance Officer.

Prior to joining Chordiant, Mr. Zuckerman was Vice President and Associate General Counsel at BEA Systems, Inc., where he was responsible for corporate, securities and M&A matters. Prior to BEA, Mr. Zuckerman was Managing Counsel at Oracle Corporation, and held several legal and business positions at Siebel Systems, Inc., most recently as Director, Legal Affairs. Prior to his in-house experience, Mr. Zuckerman was an attorney with the law firms of Foley & Lardner in San Francisco and Dinsmore & Shohl in Cincinnati.

Mr. Zuckerman holds a B.A. from Vanderbilt University, a J.D. from The University of Michigan Law School, and an M.B.A from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
